Vrundavan Hospital & Research Centre now introduces the far superior DIGITAL X-RAY Technology of Kodak POC CR 120 SYSTEM. This is an advanced form of computerized X-rays using photo stimulable phosphorus plates. In place of the usual X-ray cassette is a modified digital camera which captures the X-rays passing through the patient’s body. The chief advantage being upto 90% less radiation to the patient. Older X-rays had to be developed in dark rooms using chemicals which produced artifacts and errors. This new system totally eliminates the dark room and the images can be viewed instantly on a computer screen. The images can be manipulated to assist the doctor in their diagnosis. Images can be magnified, rotated, contrast enhanced and labeled. Something akin to Photoshop software the images can be modified with a host of techniques like cropping, edging, annotation, subtraction, etc.

All the images are stored on the computer just like digital photos; hence they can be retrieved on demand as well as sent to far off places via emails. This also saves a storage space. The Digital X-ray looks like any other regular X-ray but has superior clarity and all the advantages of digital applications.
